Roger A. Raulin, Principal and Senior Consultant
Roger Raulin has more than 35 years of experience in the institutional investment and employee benefit consulting fields, including his 15 years as Principal and Senior Consultant of RAULIN INC. Roger is well-known in the Pittsburgh business community for his objective research and high standard of ethics. Prior to starting his own firm, Roger was a Vice President for the HDH Group, Inc., a Senior Consultant for Mercer Meidinger Hansen, a Group Pension Investment Consultant for the Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company and a Group Pension Investment Consultant for the Principal Financial Group.
Roger’s primary responsibility with RAULIN INC. is to oversee the firm’s delivery of investment consulting services on a fee-only basis to institutional accounts. Roger’s focus within the firm is the monitoring of investments for defined benefit retirement plans, defined contribution retirement plans, health and welfare plans and foundation assets in a manner consistent with fiduciary prudence and modern investment portfolio management theories. He is a frequent speaker at numerous professional organizations nationwide.
Roger received a B.A. Degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1970. Roger is a member of WEB – a network of benefits professionals and of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and is enrolled in the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Program which is co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Roger is also a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association, the Pittsburgh Association of Group Executives and the Pittsburgh CLU Chapter.
Joan F. Raulin, Principal and Senior Consultant
Joan Raulin has extensive experience in the Pittsburgh corporate business community. Prior to joining RAULIN INC., a fee-only Registered Investment Adviser; Joan was employed by Alcoa and Alcoa Properties, Inc. for eight years. Prior to Alcoa, Joan worked for U.S. Steel for five years and AT&T for two years.
Joan’s primary responsibility as a consultant with RAULIN INC. is in the guaranteed contract practice area. The guaranteed contract practice of RAULIN INC. consists of the placement of Guaranteed Investment Contracts (GIC’s) and the transfer of defined benefit retirement plan liability to an insurance company through a group Single Premium Annuity Contract (SPAC). In addition, Joan has responsibilities for client services to RAULIN INC.’s investment consulting clients and investment advisory clients.
Joan has a B.S. Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jennifer M. Kasprack, Consultant/Manager Performance Measurement & Investment Search
Jennifer Kasprack joined RAULIN INC. in 1998. Prior to joining RAULIN INC., Jennifer was employed by the accounting firm of Katz & Associates. Jennifer has a Life, Accident and Health License and is studying for a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. Jennifer has passed the Series 65/Registered Investment Adviser examination.
Jennifer’s primary responsibility with RAULIN INC., a fee-only Registered Investment Adviser, is in the investment consulting practice area. Jennifer works with our clients to monitor and illustrate performance to meet each client’s unique needs.
In addition to preparing quarterly investment performance measurement reports, Jennifer is researching and updating investment manager information continually.
Her other responsibilities include manager searches, investment policy statements, 401(k), 403(b), 457 and self-directed Taft-Hartley plan bundled provider searches.
Jennifer passed the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) Principles exam in April 2007.
Justin B. Lauver, Esq., Chief Compliance Officer
Justin Lauver joined RAULIN INC. in 2006. He received a J.D. from The University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2006 and has passed the Pennsylvania Bar examination. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2000 with a B.A. Degree in Economics.
At RAULIN INC., Justin is responsible for the firm’s adherence to legal and regulatory requirements governing investment advisers, including SEC Form ADV. Justin also assists the Consultants in the preparation of quarterly investment measurement reports, investment manager searches, investment policy statements as well as the Guaranteed Contract Practice. Justin has passed the Series 65/Registered Investment Adviser examination.
T. Christopher Pipich, Analyst
Chris Pipich graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Financial Management from Clemson University in 2003. He began his career as an Analyst with Pipich Boucek Partners, an investment consulting firm, after graduation.
Prior to joining Raulin Inc., Chris was employed by Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor and worked for PNC Financial Corp. as a Licensed Financial Sales Consultant where he provided financial planning advice to clients.
As an Analyst, Chris’ primary responsibility with Raulin Inc. is to assemble under the direction of the Consultants performance measurement reports, investment manager search reports and asset liability modeling studies.
Chris has his Series 7, 66, 31 and PA insurance licenses.
Jack E. Saxer, Jr., CFA, Senior Consultant
The common thread that runs through Jack Saxer’s professional career has been a strong interest in investment programs. Since retiring from DQE (Duquesne Light) in 2001, Jack has worked as an investment consultant and joined RAULIN INC.
in 2007.
Jack earned his B.A. Degree in Economics from Allegheny College in 1965 and obtained his CFA designation in 1977. Past professional memberships include the Association for Investment Management & Research, Mellon Bank’s Trust Advisory Board, the Tri-State Pension Fund Group and several venture capital advisory boards.
At Gulf Oil, Chevron and Duquesne Light, over a span of 22 years, Jack focused on trusteed investment accounts ranging in size from $25 million to $6 billion. Jack regularly worked with investment consultants and made presentations to the Board of Directors and Senior Management. At each firm, Jack prepared investment policy statements, designed the overall portfolio strategy, selected a stable of investment managers (ranging from a handful to twenty) and developed monitoring tools to measure actual performance to expectations.
Jack attends client meetings, where his experience as Plan and Investment Fiducary brings a unique perspective to the
RAULIN INC. consulting relationship. Also, with 35 years of work experience in the capital markets, Jack can provide clients with investment expectations and solutions often rooted in history.
Andrea R. Gaydosh, Executive Administrative Assistant
Andrea Gaydosh graduated from Sawyer Business School in 1987, and has more 19 years of secretarial experience. Prior to joining RAULIN INC., Andrea held an Administrative Assistant position at The Ayco Company, L.P.
Andrea is responsible for providing all general office support, including assisting the consultants with document preparation and organization of projects.
Patricia G. Hunziker, Administrative Assistant
Patricia is responsible for providing all general office support. She has more than 20 years of secretarial experience and has worked in many different types of businesses, including advertising, banking, law and investments.
